“Thank you for such an interesting article about the use of Danish style furniture in a relaxing environment like the bedroom.

I can also see the sleek, simple lines of Danish furniture working well in casual entertaining areas like outdoor pergolas or patios. You mention the extensive use of teak timber, which adapts well to extremes of weather, which can be a problem for many styles of outdoor furniture exposed to the elements.

Fantastic designs. It’s a shame that in the UK that when we think of scandinavian furniture we cannot see past IKEA ! Love the teak table.

My mother has a piece of old danish furniture from back in the sixties and it still is in good condition. But then again she takes care of it too. I thought teak was typical of Danish Furniture though so reading that it wasn’t surprised me. What wood is common to Scandinavian area? Does this range of furniture also cater for the outdoor furniture market and is it made in the USA only? I notice from the pictures on this site that the furniture is very much old fashioned looking – is that the modern danish furniture?
